De-Googling: Practical advice from folks that have done it
While many understand the dangers of Google – as it amasses our personal information, provides surveillance for governments and law enforcement, relies on data centers that threaten communities and the environment, and pushes out competition with monopolistic practices – it can feel impossible to quit it. But it is critical as social change makers that we do what we can to opt for alternative tools that don’t undermine our safety, or the safety of our families, colleagues, and peers.
In this session we will share the why and how groups and individuals should move off Google (and other Big Tech) platforms. The goal for attendees is to leave with more confidence in their ability to move away from Google and clear next steps for how to do so.
